Isaiah 27
The Lord will restore the nations Isaiah 26-27
The phrase 'in that day' (Isaiah 26.1; 27.1-2, 12-13) refers to the 'Day of the Lord'. Isaiah encourages the remnant who were suffering with seven illustrations as sources of encouragements. Jerusalem will be a strong city (26.1-6); the level path (26.7-11); the woman in travail; the life-giving dew (26.19-21); The conquered beast (Isaiah 27.1); The fruitful vineyard (Isaiah 27.2-11); The holy and happy feast (Isaiah 27.1-2).(Source: Be Comforted:Warren Wiersbe). Regardless of what happen God is in control.
Please note that the Bible speaks of three types of vines: the people of Israel (Isaiah 5; 27); Christ and His Church (John 15), and the godless Gentile nations (Revelation 14.18). In Revelation 2-3 there are the dead churches, compromising churches and the faithful churches. God will use the Great Tribulation to purge His Church to be a faithful church to prepare it for His kingdom.
