Today's Reading is Jeremiah 41, Psalms 91.7-13
Jeremiah 41
The assaassination of Gedaliah was described (Jeremiah 40.7-9; 41.1-3; 2 Kings 25.22-26). Ishmael with a company of ten men slew Gedaliah. and a sorrow band of men who were also slaughtered en masse. Ishmael then fled to Ammon.
Ishmael Takes the People Captive:23 41:4-10; The Captives were released by Johanan: 41:11-18
Application: Even in this situation, God is in control!
Verses to meditate: 17 And they went on, stopping at Geruth Kimham near Bethlehem on their way to Egypt 18 to escape the Babylonians. [b] They were afraid of them because Ishmael son of Nethaniah had killed Gedaliah son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon had appointed as governor over the land.
