OR You can read Years 1-3 and go through the Bible in One Year
Today's Reading is Isaiah 31
King James Version with Web Encyclopedia Links:Isaiah 31
In Isaiah 31, is the fifth woe. They are depending upon Egypt instead of upon God. They are depending upon the weapons and technology of that day to save them from the Assyrians. God will pounce upon the Assyrian like a lion and destroy them (v. 4). God will destroy the Assyrian like an eagle swooping out of the sky. (v. 5)
Isaiah appealed to the people to return. As God’s people we, too, find it tempting to go to the world and ask them to help us. We had said before in one night 185, 000 Assyrians were dead outside of Jerusalem! Let us depend on God and not in man’s help.
