Jeremiah 27
Jeremiah was told to make a yoke of straps and crossbars and to put it on his neck. The object lesson was that Joudah would serve Nebuchadnezzar. God had apointed Nebuchadnezzar to conquer Judah and the world. He told Zedekiah not to listen to the lying prophets that all was well, Judah would never be captured by Nebuchadnezzar.
Application People would rather hear good news not bad news. Yet sometimes the bad news are the ones which can be beneficial to us.
Verses to meditate: 4 Give them a message for their masters and say, 'This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: "Tell this to your masters: 5 With my great power and outstretched arm I made the earth and its people and the animals that are on it, and I give it to anyone I please.
