Jeremiah 45
Baruch had serve Heremiah, the unpopular prophet for many years. According to one commentator, he had hoped to make a name for himself, but things were not going well for Jeremiah and he (Baruch) was very discouraged.
Application: When we are do God's ministry, there are three things we should keep away from: think of the three Gs: Glory, Gold and Girls!
Verses to meditate: 4 The LORD said, "Say this to him: 'This is what the LORD says: I will overthrow what I have built and uproot what I have planted, throughout the land. 5 Should you then seek great things for yourself? Seek them not. For I will bring disaster on all people, declares the LORD, but wherever you go I will let you escape with your life.' "
