Jeremiah 4
Jeremiah continue to condemn Judah for been unfaithful to God. Here God is showing mercy to Judah. the mercy begins with the word IF...

Verses to meditate on:
1 "If you will return, O Israel,
return to me,"
declares the LORD.
"If you put your detestable idols out of my sight
and no longer go astray,

2 and if in a truthful, just and righteous way
you swear, 'As surely as the LORD lives,'
then the nations will be blessed by him
and in him they will glory."

If they are truly repentant, God will have mercy upon them.

In verse 5-31, Jeremiah anguishes about what will happent to Judah from the north: Babylon!

Psalm 73 with Commentaries, verse by verse
This is a psalm of Asaph. He, like us look at the propserity of the wicked and wonder why we should keep on the straight and narrow way. This man of faith, in his trial, instead of keeping his eyes on the Lord, kept his eyes on the wicked (v.1-14) and became envious of them. In verse 15-28, the righteous man's faith is renewed and then he saw what the future holds for the wicked. He realized, and we should as well, apply what verse 28 has to say to us 'But as for me, it is good to be near
God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.'
