Today's Reading is Isaiah 61
King James Version with Web Encyclopedia Links:Isaiah 59

Isaiah 61 is a magnificent passage of the Bible. Jesus quoted verses 1-2 and applied them to Himself in the synagogue of Nazareth (Verse to meditate on:)

1 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
Because the LORD has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn

Jersualem will be rebuilt and the Gentiles will be there in Jerusalem (v. 5). The Jews will be blessed with a double portion in the Messianic Kingdom.
The parable of the wedding feast (Matthew 22) will be fulfilled and is described here (v. 10-11). It is also mentioned and will be ultimately fulfilled in Revelation 21.
