Today's Reading is Isaiah 58; Psalms 67

Isaiah 58 deals with what true fasting is all about. True fasting (including worship and devotion to God) woould be true religion as deined by James in James 1.27 keeping oneself pure and taking care of orphans and widows. One's life need to reflect what one believes. It is easy to talk the talk BUT to walk the walk, that is a different story.

Spurgeon-Psalm 67

This psalm is asking God to bless them them and make His ways known to man. It is also a psalm of praise of praise to God. Verse 1 spoke to me today, May God be graciour to us and bless us and make His face to shine upon us. This reminds me of the blessing that Aaron bless the people with in Num 6.23-34. We should also bless God!! We have always said that God bless America. I think we got that backwards we should say AMERICA BLESS GOD!
