King James Version with Web Encyclopedia Links:Isaiah 64 Psalms 69
Isaiah 64
The section on Praise and Prayer continues (Isaiah 63.7-64.12)
Verses to meditate on:
6 All of us have become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
and like the wind our sins sweep us away.
7 No one calls on your name
or strives to lay hold of you;
for you have hidden your face from us
and made us waste away because of our sins.
Do we realize what oour sinful nature really is? Isaiah expressed it in these verses. We need to realize our sinfulness by knowing and understanding the holiness of God. We can be righteous by the fact that God was satisfied when Jesus died on the cross for our sins.

Isaiah 64 with Commentaries, verse by verse
Psalm 69 with Commentaries, verse by verse
This is a well known Psalm. David is asking God for mercy to deliver him from his enemies. Who do we go to when we are in trouble? It should be to God. He is our Rock, Refuge and Fortress.
69.19-36
Psalm 69 is also prophetic about the crucifixion. in verse 19-20, prophecied about Jesus scorned and mocked. In v. 21 'they put gall in my food and gave me vinegar for my thirst.' The verse that spoke to me today was 'I am in pain and distress, may your salvation, O God, protect me.' This spoke about the agony that Jesus went through on the cross.
