Jeremiah 9
This section covers Sin and Punishment (Jeremiah 8.4-9.26)
Here the section aptly describes Jeremiah as the weeping or broken-hearted prophet. Jeremiah was sorrowful to a sinful people oblivious to the impending judgement (8.6, 9.2-9). He wept day amd moght for his people at the thought of the Babylonian invasion. He begged them, tried to persuade, implore that they turn from their wicked ways.
Verses to meditate on:
23 This is what the LORD says:
"Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom
or the strong man boast of his strength
or the rich man boast of his riches,
24 but let him who boasts boast about this:
that he understands and knows me,
that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth,
for in these I delight,"
declares the LORD.

Psalm 76 According to the NIV Study Bible, Psalm 76 is a celebration of the Lord’s invincible power in the defense of Jerusalem, his royal city. God is seem as a Warrior defending Jerusalem. God is just and righteous and will defend His people. This not only applies in the days of Asaph, but Christians TODAY around the world remember this psalm when they are persecuted for their faith, God will vindicate His people. One day when we face persecution let us take this Psalm to heart.
