Psalm 52, with Commentaries verse by verse
This was a psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite went to Saul to tell him where David was hiding. David was in the house of Ahumelech (1Samuel 21.1-9). David is confident of God’s protection (v. 1-4) Doeg was boastful (v. 1), his tongue plots destruction (v. 2), loves evil (v. 3), love harmful words. In v. 5-7 God will destroy the enemy and the righteous will mock him. In verse 8-9 David’s security is God, notice the verbs such as trust, praise and hope and how they are used in these verses. We do not need to be afraid of people who means us bodily harm because God is there to protect us.,
