Isaiah 47
This chapter describes the fall of Babylon. She was proud but God will humble her. The attitude that Babylon had is expressed in verse 7 "I will continue forever-the eternal queen!" she boasted. She would become a slave to the Medes. Her idols or the practice of the occults will not save her (v, 12-14). God knew that Babylon would fall because He chose Cyrus to rescue Babylon. Looking even further in the ages, Revelation 18 describes the fall of Babylon, the spiritual world system that hates Jesus Christ and everything that is holy.
