Lamentations 4
The Lord has given full vent to his wrath because of the sin of Judah. Judah reap what she sowed. He sent the Babylonians to devastate Judah. The nations looked at Judah with scorn. Remember Deuteronomy 28 where God told the Israelites if they were obedient they would be blessed, if they were disobedient they would be cursed and be scattered over the face of the earth. They would be later restored and returned to Israel.

Application
When you read this what do you think? We are under the illusion that God is a God of love and He would turn the other way when Christians sin. The churches have taught that God is a God of Love. I have had discussions with pastors from different churches and they don’t get it. God is a God of love BUT He is a God of Judgement. The sooner we understand this the better prepared we will be for the near future when Christ will return as a Lion, as Judge and King!

Verse to meditate on:
Lamentation 4 11 The LORD has given full vent to his wrath;
he has poured out his fierce anger.
He kindled a fire in Zion
that consumed her foundations.

12 The kings of the earth did not believe,
nor did any of the world's people,
that enemies and foes could enter
the gates of Jerusalem.

Psalm 98, with Commentaries, verse by verse

Psalm 99 shows God as powerful and mighty. He is King and reigns over the earth. Notice such language as the earth shake v. 1, the nations tremble.
In v. 4-5 the Lord showed the quality of his rule by what he did for Israel. God spoke to priests such as Moses, Aaron and Samuel, they call on Him and He answered them. They obeyed his commandments. In verse 8-9 He is a loving but a just God.
