Jeremiah 52
The book of Jeremiah ended in tragedy. Jerusalem was captured, plundered and destroyed by the Babylonians.

Jeremiah 52.1-3; 2 Kings 14.18-20; 2 Chronicles 36.11-16
Jeremiah 52.4-16; Jeremiah 39.1-10
Jeremiah 52.4-21; 2 Kings 15.1-21; 2 Chronicles 36.17-20

Application:
Our God is a God of history. What he had promised, He will fulfill. We need to learn from the people of Judah. They had enough time to repent. They had many warnings from Jeremiah but they did not pay attention to what he prophesied or preached. What about us? Are we being fooled by our pastors in the pulpit when they only taught about the God of Love, they ignore the a Holy God and His Judgement. The day is coming soon and when it happens many of us will be caught by surprise. Let us remember that mercy precedes judgement and there is stll time to repent and turn to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Verses to meditate on:
3 It was because of the LORD's anger that all this happened to Jerusalem and Judah, and in the end he thrust them from his presence.
Now Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven played music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well."
