Lamentations 5
Jeremiah contones to lament over Judad's misery.any had suffered harship and agony (v. 1-14) and the Davidic dynasty no longer reigned, the temple was destroyed (v. 15-18)
Jeremiah prays for mercy. The verses reflect Psalms 74.1-2; 79.5-8; 80.1-7.
Application:
Do we care enought to lament over people we know who go through suffering and agony? do we pray for divine mercy on those who suffer? Or are we just preoccupied with ourselves and our problems.
Verses to meditate on:
21 Restore us to yourself, O LORD, that we may return;
renew our days as of old
22 unless you have utterly rejected us
and are angry with us beyond measure.
